New to Starlink?
Plan placement, cable routing, power, and the parts needed for your particular Starlink hardware generation.
Read the setup checklist →Understand the accessories you need, fix weak Wi-Fi coverage, and choose equipment that fits your home—without buying gear you don't need.
Find your next step →Start with the problem—not a shopping cart. Your best fix depends on whether the internet connection itself is slow or Wi-Fi coverage is weak.

Browse the buying checklist →Starlink hardware varies by generation. Verify the exact kit and its connection options before purchasing adapters, mounts, or cables.
Check the dish, router, power supply, and available Ethernet ports. Avoid assuming an adapter for one generation fits another.
Use Starlink's obstruction-checking tools to evaluate sky visibility before choosing a permanent mount.
Measure the route, protect outdoor penetrations, and follow manufacturer guidance for cable type and length.
Check performance near the main router. If speeds are good nearby but poor elsewhere, focus on home Wi-Fi coverage.
A strong Starlink connection doesn't guarantee good Wi-Fi at the far end of a large house.
Compare speeds near the main router and in the problem room using the same device. Big differences point toward a local coverage issue.
If Ethernet runs already exist, connect compatible mesh nodes or access points by cable. This can be more consistent than relying on wireless hops.
A wireless mesh node needs a decent connection to the main network; placing it inside a dead zone often doesn't help.
When adding a third-party router or mesh system, review the Starlink router's supported bypass settings and the mesh system's routing mode.

Match the mount to your dish model, roof or pole type, weather exposure, and safe installation requirements.
Check: kit generation, mounting surface, cable routing.Consider coverage area, Ethernet ports, wired backhaul support, and whether the system can work with Starlink.
Check: wired ports, node count, network mode.Ethernet can connect distant rooms and access points. Select appropriate cable and test each run before relying on it.
